Where the train data for the United States comes from

Trainradar24 does not run trains and does not sell tickets. The timetable for the United States is Amtrak's own public GTFS feed — the same schedule Amtrak publishes for every app and trip planner — used here without changes. United States railway timetable: Amtrak.

Amtrak does not publish open real-time data, so there are no live delays on these pages and no live GPS on the map. What you see is the schedule: a train is drawn where the timetable says it should be at that minute, along the track geometry Amtrak publishes with its timetable. That is useful for knowing which train serves which stop and when, but it is not a live tracker — if a train is late, it is behind its dot.

For tickets, official train status and service alerts, go to amtrak.com. Trainradar24 is independent and not affiliated with Amtrak. The departure boards for individual stations are on a separate page — Amtrak station departures.

Questions people ask

Is this the official Amtrak train status?

No. Trainradar24 is independent and not affiliated with Amtrak. Every time on these pages is Amtrak's published schedule. For the official status of a train, delays and service alerts, use Track a Train on amtrak.com or the Amtrak app.

Why does the map not show delays?

Amtrak does not publish open real-time data. A train on the Trainradar24 map is drawn where the timetable says it should be at that minute, along the real track. If the train is running late, it will be further back than the dot — so treat the map as a picture of the schedule, not a live tracker.

Is Trainradar24 free?

Yes. The map, the station departure boards and the search are free, and you do not need an account to open the map.

Which trains are covered?

Every train in Amtrak's national timetable: the Northeast Corridor (Northeast Regional and Acela), state-supported routes such as the Pacific Surfliner, Capitol Corridor, Keystone and Empire Service, and the long-distance trains — California Zephyr, Coast Starlight, Empire Builder, Southwest Chief, Auto Train and more. MARC and Shore Line East trains that Amtrak includes in its timetable are shown too. Other commuter railroads, subways and Thruway buses are not.

Where do I buy tickets?

On amtrak.com or in the Amtrak app. Trainradar24 does not sell tickets.

Which countries are covered?

Poland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Finland, the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Norway and the United States, with the local language version linked from the flag in the menu above.
