Where the train data for Sweden comes from

Trainradar24 does not run trains and does not resell anyone's timetable. The timetable for Sweden comes from Samtrafiken via Trafiklab (GTFS Sverige 2), published under CC0. Delays, cancellations and the GPS positions of the trains come from Trafikverket's open API, also CC0, used here without changes.

Trafikverket gives a forecast for every station on a train's way, so the board shows the delay station by station, not one figure for the whole train.

Station departure boards are on a separate page — departures by station — for long-distance, regional and commuter trains.

Questions people ask

Is Trainradar24 free?

Yes. The live map and the departure boards are free, and you do not need an account to open the map. There is no paid tier that unlocks the data on this page.

Does it cover every train in Sweden?

It covers the trains in Samtrafiken's national timetable — SJ, Mälartåg, Öresundståg, Norrtåg, Snälltåget, Arlanda Express, commuter and regional trains — and the delays Trafikverket reports for them.

How is this different from the operator's app?

An operator's app covers its own trains at its own stations. Trainradar24 puts the live map and the departure boards for every operator in one place, and shows where a train actually is, not only when it was due.

Where do I see departures from my station?

On the station list. Each station has its own page with the next departures and their delays.

Which countries are covered?

Poland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Finland, the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Norway, the United States, Croatia, Ireland, Sweden and Australia, with the local-language version linked from the flag in the menu above.
